The place was the Anchor Inn at the small village of Nether Broughton in Leicestershire and the occasion was to help a young lady, Sally, raise money for Whizz Kidz, a charity for disabled children. Sally is running the London Marathon and the event on Saturday 10th April was to add to her fund raising. It was superb to see such huge support for her and the pub was packed. Sally had prepared well for the night and she was rewarded by raising over £1000 from the event.
Well done to Sally and I hope that she savours the occasion of running the London Marathon and goes on to raise even more money for a great cause. It was my pleasure to assist her.

Baston Cricket Club
Baston Cricket Club in the village of Baston, Lincolnshire had their most successful Race Night on Friday 9th April 2010. They raised around £680 for their club funds through a lot of hard work by their organiser. By obtaining race sponsors and selling horses and jockeys a good deal of money was in the 'bank' before the night.
