Busy Weekend

Just finished three Race Nights on the trot (ha ha bit of a joke that). Thursday night I was at Queen Mary's Grammar School in Walsall. The event was a fund raiser but also to bring people together to assist in raising funds for a cricket trip to New Zealand in 2012. The event was well attended by parents.

During the week I received a phone call from Nether Whitacre Cricket Club. It seems that they had been let down by another Race Night operator. The event was planned for Friday and luckily I was free. Wow what an event it was too. This was close to the most attended event that I have done and I was kept busy!! Remarkable the tote alone raised over £460 which is quite an achievement.

Saturday night was Old Dial Football Club in Stourbridge. This is a new football team and the aim was to raise a bit of money but also to get the team together. A really pleasant night was had and whilst they didn't raise vast sums they were happy. Occasionally in races we have outsiders where few people have backed a particular runner which means that the prize is high and occasionally these big prizes are won. One lucky chap won two races where he was the outsider winning £20 on one race and £21 on another - much to the disgruntlement of everyone else - but it's all in fun !!

The last couple of months

Oops - not been keeping this up to date. Well whats been happening over the last few weeks. On Saturday Night I was at The Mallard in Brookside, Telford to help The Mallard Football Club have an entertaining Presentation Evening. The event was well attended and I even got a kiss at the end of the night !! Must have done a good job. On Friday 25th June it was another football team The Rose and Crown in Gainsborough who also had a presentation evening.

Thursday 17th June it was Fun Money to celebrate a 40th birthday in Chelmsley Wood. A really nice family celebration which we captured a little on video. See the video on the home page of the website.

Friday 11th June I was fortunate to help a lady who is going to Kitgum in North Uganda on a mission. Jackie worked really hard and ended up with a very successful night.
